January 2026: 4 sessions (5th, 12th, 19th & 26th)
February 2026: 4 sessions (2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd)
March 2026: 2 sessions (2nd & 9th)

Description

The Swanson Baseball Youth Pitching Program is designed for dedicated players ages 10U–12U who want elite, personalized pitching instruction. With small group training (4 players per coach), age-specific groupings, and 15 hours of instruction over 10 sessions, this program builds proper mechanics, boosts velocity, sharpens control, and develops mental toughness for the mound.


  • Program Dates: January 5th – March 9th
  • Total Sessions: 10 sessions | 90 minutes each 
  • Schedule: Mondays 4:00-5:30pm
  • Investment: $430 payable in 2 installments of $215.  Installments will be due on or before Jan 1, 2026, and Feb 1, 2026. 
  • Student-to-Instructor Ratio: 4:1 

MEET THE INSTRUCTORS


Dave Swanson – Program Coordinator

  • Former 9th round draft pick, New York Mets (1991)
  • Professional pitcher: NY Mets/Colorado Rockies organizations (1991-1996)
  • Professional pitcher: Amarillo Dillas, Waterbury Spirit, Bridgeport Bluefish organizations (1996-2001)
  • Gatorade Connecticut High School Player of the Year (1991)
  • Gatorade New England High School Player of the Year (1991)
  • Former Professional Pitching Rehab Coordinator, Cleveland Indians (2012-2014)
  • Former Pitching Coach, University of Fairfield (2023)
  • Current KZone Producer for ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball


Pat Egan – Instructor

  • Former Baltimore Orioles relief pitcher (AAA level)
  • NEC Pitcher of the Year (2004, Quinnipiac University)
  • NEC Coach of the Year (2024, Sacred Heart University)
  • Guided Sacred Heart to its first NEC regular season title in just his 2nd year as head coach
  • 7-year professional baseball career (Baltimore Orioles & Atlanta Braves organizations)
  • Career record: 30-23, 19 saves, 3.11 ERA over 518+ innings
  • Transitioned from pro starting pitcher to successful bullpen role


Ryan DiPietro – Instructor

  • Former Kansas City Royals draft pick (6th round, 2005)
  • National Pitcher-of-the-Year (2004, Eastern Connecticut State University)
  • Two-time All-American and ECAC Pitcher-of-the-Year
  • Winningest left-handed pitcher in ECSU program history
  • Career college record: 29 wins, including 19 straight victories from 2003–2004
  • Holds multiple ECSU Top 10 career marks (ERA, strikeouts, innings pitched)
  • 3-year pro career in Royals organization + 4 years in independent leagues


Alex Smith – Instructor

  • Former professional pitcher: New York Yankees & Tampa Bay Rays (2012-2016)
  • University of New Haven standout (2008-2011)
  • South Atlantic League All-Star (2014)
  • Arizona Fall League participant with Scottsdale Scorpions (2014)
  • First SB program graduate to reach the professional level
