Description

The Swanson Baseball Youth Pitching Program is designed for dedicated players ages 9U–12U who want elite, personalized pitching instruction. With small group training (3 players per coach), age-specific groupings, and 30+ hours of instruction over 27 sessions, this program builds proper mechanics, boosts velocity, sharpens control, and develops mental toughness for the mound.


  • Program Agenda:
    • January; Throwing Phase 1; Arm Care, Mound Work, Pitch Development & PFP
    • February; Throwing Phase 2; Arm Care, Mound Work, Pitch Development, Situational Pitching & PFP
    • March; Throwing Phase 3; Building on February
  • Program Dates: January 6th – March 12th
  • Total Sessions: 20 sessions (60-75 minutes each) | 22.5 total hours of instruction 
  • Schedule: 
    • January: 8 Sessions (6, 13, 20, 27 / 8, 15, 22, 29)
    • February: 8 Sessions (3, 10, 17, 24 / 5, 12, 19, 26)
    • March: 4 sessions (3, 10 / 5, 12) 
    • Tues. 7:00pm - 8:00pm / Thurs. 7:15pm- 8:30pm
  • Price Breakdown: $645, payable in 3 installments of $215.  Installments will be due on or before Jan 1st, Feb 1st and March 1st, 2026. Payment method for Automatic payments will be selected at registration, but can be edited at any time. Email payment reminders will be sent out 7 days prior to payment date.
  • Student-to-Instructor Ratio: 4:1

Dave Swanson - SB Throwing Program Coordinator

  • Former 9th round draft pick of the New York Mets (1991)
  • Professional pitcher (1991-2001)
  • Gatorade Connecticut High School Player of the Year (1991)
  • Gatorade New England High School Player of the Year (1991)
  • Former Professional Pitching Rehab Coordinator; Cleveland ('12-'14)
  • Former Univ. Fairfield Pitching Coach ('23)
  • Current KZone Producer for ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball

Pat Egan - current Sacred Heart University Baseball Head Coach; 2023-present

  • Former draft pick by the Baltimore Orioles in back to back years; 2005 & 2006
  • Pitched seven years in Pro Ball, reaching the AAA level in both the Baltimore Orioles & Atlanta Braves organizations
  • Quinnipiac University Baseball RHP; 2003-2007
  • Named the Northeast Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2004 when he went 7-2 with a 2.54 ERA
  • He finished his college career with a record of 20-11, 3.95 ERA, 151 strikeouts, and an opponent batting average of .262

Ryan DiPietro - current CT Tides Coach

  • Former 6th round draft pick of the Kansas City Royals (2005)
  • Professional pitcher (2005-2011)
  • Eastern Connecticut State University (2003-2005)
  • Former national Pitcher-of-the-Year and two-time All-America
  • Helped the Warriors win back-to-back regional baseball championships
  • A first-team selection to the D3baseball.com Team-of-the-Decade for the first decade of the century
  • DiPietro still ranks among the all-time Top 10 in eight categories. 
  • Second in strikeouts & strikeouts per game (11.76), third in ERA (1.50) & least hits and walks per game (8.36), fourth in wins, seventh in innings and winning percentage (90.6) and tied for seventh in starts (36).
